Catherine Butler
“My Swiggles series of earrings took on a new twist awhile back when I realized that the wire was perfect for writing in script. I started creating humorous pairings of words, or splitting words into two to create secret messages on the wearer’s ears. Because of the current climate of the acceptance of misogyny, racism, disrespect, and lies, I needed a larger palette to express my concerns. I have expanded my format to necklaces. Shown here are the first iterations of a new series.”
