Friday Mentored Independent Study
Do you want to create something of your own design, but need some instructor guidance? Relax in an atmosphere that supports your needs, and work independently at your own pace. This on-going class allows independent study students to explore a wide range of projects. Individual help is provided for each step of the creative process from design through completion. Demonstrations will be tailored specifically to the current class. Get the feedback you need, and work in a friendly and supportive environment where your creativity can flourish. This class capacity is currently limited to four students. All studio tools and equipment will be available for use.
10:00 am - 2:30 pm every Friday by advanced reservation.
Class Fee: $225 for five Friday classes
By the hour also available: $18 (payable in advance by phone)
Materials are not included. Students are required to bring all project materials such as metal, saw blades, drill bits, sandpaper, solder and finishing materials. Materials and supplies are available for purchase.
Basic metal working skills or equivalent to our Introduction to Jewelry class are required.

Instructor: Kim Baxter
Kim Baxter is Co-Founder of Flux Metal Arts. She has a BFA in Metals from the Cleveland Institute of Art. As former adjunct faculty of Lakeland Community College, she has over twenty years of teaching experience in the Jewelry/ Metal arts. Kim now shares her passion for metalsmithing, teaching a wide variety of classes and workshops at Flux Metal Arts. As a studio artist, she creates one-of-a-kind, commissioned, and occasional limited edition jewelry. She sells her work at Flux Metal Arts, and participates in exhibitions across the United States.
