Wire wrapping is an ancient art traced back to Egyptian jewelers. Making an Egyptian coil is a very versatile wire wrapping technique. They can be used to make rings, earring head pins, bracelets, necklaces, and embellishments for stones just to name a few ideas. In this intermediate level class, we will make a coiled flower ring and a spiral link necklace incorporating a stone. You will build upon the skills learned from “Wrap like an Egyptian I” plus using pliers as a gauge, creating simple closed loops, and connecting components with jump rings. Basic tools will be provided.
Saturday, June 11 1:30 AM – 5:00 PM
All levels are welcome, some wire wrapping experience can be helpful but not required.
Class fee: $60
Materials fee: $30 payable to the instructor. Includes wire & choice of beads and stone to make the ring and necklace. Materials and directions for the earrings will be included, although not a formal part of the class.
