Introduction to Silver Metal Clay
In this fun introductory workshop, participants will learn the basics of working with precious metal clay (PMC). Metal clay is a jewelry material made from microscopic particles of fine silver with a binder and water. After kiln firing, the binder burns away and pure silver remains. Techniques will include rolling, texturing, cutting, joining, shaping, finishing, firing, and polishing to complete 2 - 3 pieces of jewelry – and depending on the size of your pieces, students may make a pendant, earrings and/or charms. This class is limited to eight students. Tool kits will be available for use.
