Tube Setting Basics
A great bezel setting substitute for very small faceted and cabochon stones, learn how you can accent your creations with tube set stones. In this technique based class, students will make a variety of simple pendants or earrings accented with 3 mm stones set in copper tube. This class will cover choosing the right size tubing, cutting the setting with burs, and creating a seat when the right size tubing is not available. You will leave with the confidence to include tube setting in your own designs. This in studio class is limited to eight students. Tools will be available for use. Safety glasses & magnifiers are required.

Basic metalworking experience with soldering skills required. (ages 18 and up)
Class Fee: $130 Materials Fee: Materials included.
Students wishing to work with silver tubing, or other sized stones, are welcome to bring those materials and the appropriate sized ball and setting burs.

Kim Baxter is Co-Founder of Flux Metal Arts. She has a BFA in Metals from the Cleveland Institute of Art. As former adjunct faculty of Lakeland Community College, she has over twenty years of teaching experience in the Jewelry/ Metal arts. Kim now shares her passion for metalsmithing, teaching a wide variety of classes and workshops at Flux Metal Arts. As a studio artist, she creates one-of-a-kind, commissioned, and occasional limited edition jewelry. She sells her work at Flux Metal Arts, and participates in exhibitions across the United States.
